Feedback & Tips & Gifts Oh My

Our latest release, includes some frequently requested features. Players can now give feedback to their Gamemasters, including providing a monetary tip. In addition to gifting products from the Shard Marketplace you can purchase Gift Cards as well.

Feedback

Getting feedback is a great way for Gamemasters to make sure that their players are having fun and improve their skills. Sometimes it can be difficult to get this feedback especially if players are hesitant to be critical. The new feedback support in Shard makes it easy for players to quickly give feedback, including the option of anonymous feedback.

Players can provide feedback at any time during a campaign. The Gamemaster can also prompt players for feedback at the end of sessions or after key points in the adventure. Don’t forget to tell Gamemasters all of the great things that they do in addition to the things you would like improved. See our learning article for additional details.

Tips

Gamemasters spend a lot of time preparing great adventures and additionally money purchasing content to build their adventures. When playing it is common for players to chip-in to collectively buy books for campaigns or when playing in person to buy dinner. We have had many requests for an online way to do the same thing.

Tips allows you to send Shard credits as part of feedback to your Gamemaster. These credits can be used at full value to make purchases in the Shard Marketplace to buy content for future games. Additionally these credits can be paid out via PayPal to be spent outside of Shard. These payouts do have an additional fee to cover the processing fees, like the credit card and PayPal processing fees. See our learning article for additional details.

Gift Cards

The Shard marketplace has had the ability to send products as gifts to others and this has been a popular feature. Sometimes you don’t know what product you want or don’t want to spend the full value of a product. In those cases we have had requests to just send a dollar value gift card instead. The marketplace now includes a gift card product that allows you to purchase gift cards from $5 to $100. These will show up as Shard credits to make purchases in the marketplace.
